Hey everyone! I haven't written a blog in a long time but wanted to share with you all what has been going on down here and for all those who follow me on Facebook this is my weekly update. The month of January was a fun one! My parents came down for two weeks and we were able to show them a little of what we do here and just take a well-needed break from ministry. As always we visited the beach and relaxed! As they were here we talked about the community center and some ideas of how we can do programs to help people get connected to Christ and the church. We are currently working on those plans, meeting with leadership in our church to involve them and also experimenting a little with these ideas. For those who do not know, we tried to buy a container full of donated goods but it didn't make it through the port and we never received it, so this changed our plans on how we are going to build and run the community center. To say the least, I was very disappointed and frustrated since I worked hard to make this happen and prepare everything for the arrival of the container and the building project. BUT in it all, there is a silver lining and that is the new church partnership we have! We also grew a lot personally, specifically in having patience, hearing God's voice and being open to plans changing. We are currently seeking out His wisdom daily on the next steps and staying patient. Our new church partnership is really helping us grow as leaders and loving on us a lot! We really can't thank God enough for this healthy church and all the amazing people who love to serve God. On a more personal note, Nayeli and I have been growing a lot in our marriage and learning how to balance ministry, relationships, and time alone. We have come to enjoy reading books together and finding new places to hike and enjoy God's nature! We seem to have found a good rhythm. We want to thank all of you for always encouraging us from afar and helping us be our best versions! Also, I appreciate all who have given me time to listen to my doubts or questions throughout this past year and helped me make good decisions. Ministry is hard and we couldn't do it without you guys, God always speaks through mentors in my life and sometimes just good people with good experiences! SO THANK YOU! I hope to write a blog every month and with more details every time, so come follow along!
We also are going to use this blog o share more about culture, things we see and hear, and just more of our daily life. Like for example my morman neighbor or how the indigenous people live life here.
